A taxi overturned carrying 11 children on the corners of Modderdam road and Valhalla drive this morning.

The taxi was transporting the children to a College in Lansdowne.

Bishop Lavis Captain Marie Louw says according to the driver he tried to break when the robot turned orange to avoid an accident with the car in front of him.

“Two of the eleven children were transported to Tygerberg hospital for minor injuries and the others were treated for shock on the scene,” she said.

The driver was arrested and charged for reckless and negligent driving, as well as driving passengers without a transportation permit.
