Residents from the Hangberg community in Hout bay, Cape Town, are expected to march to the Hout Bay police station this morning.
The South African Poor People’s Alliance is calling for an investigation into the violence and cruelty by police forces against the residents of the informal settlement.
It was earlier reported that members of the community have laid charges of assault against members of the security forces.
Eighteen people have been injured in the past week’s protests.
