The Western Cape Social Development Department has sent a social worker from their Bellville office that is currently on the scene to investigate the death of a five month old baby.
It is alleged that the baby fell from a bed at a Pinelands Daycare centre on Thursday.
Netcare 911 spokeperson Lauren Copley said,” when paramedics arrived on the scene the baby had no pulse.”
Spokesperson for MEC of Social Development Steven Otter said, “It appears the baby died after falling from a bed. It also appears as if the centre is not registered.”
He said, MEC Patricia de Lille says all crimes involving children in the Western Cape over the past few weeks have been a rude awakening.
Patricia de Lille has sent out a strong message to anyone who mistreats a child that they can count on her as their number one enemy.
