Lusanda Bill
15 October 2010
The Civil Society Organisation and the public of Gauteng will next week be embarking on a silent march to parliament.
The march is to voice their objections against the Protection of Information Bill.
South Africans have been called upon to support The Right to Know Campaign by holding meetings, pickets and protest to defend and uphold the public’s rights of access to information.
The Right to Know Campaign was established as a result of the serious concern that has come about as a result of the tabling of the Bill in Parliament.
Melissa Moore from the Freedom of Expression Institute stated that she hoped the campaign will bring together communities, because the bill will have an impact on everybody.
