New vehicle sales and exports in South Africa showed an increase of 16.6 percent over last year’s September sales.
This is despite the nationwide strike which brought the automotive sector to a near standstill last month.
The National Association of Automotive Manufacturers say the increase could have been much higher had the strike not caused a significant loss in momentum in sales.
