The ANC chairperson in the Western Cape Marius Fransman has challenged the Western Cape Education MEC Donald Grant to a public debate in Bishop Lavis.
Fransman said the MEC should withdraw and rethink his decision to close down 27 schools in the province.
He added that the MEC is running away from meeting with him in a public debate in Bishop Lavis.
Fransman said the 27 schools are largely rural, Afrikaans speaking Cape Flats and Xhosa speaking learners to be affected.
