The Western Cape Education Department held a press conference today about making tough decisions to ensure quality education.
The MEC for education in the Western Cape Donald Grant said governance is about providing decisive leadership.
He added that it is incumbent upon him to make numerous decisions that are based on what is in the best interest of the entire education system.
The education system serves the needs and impacts on the life chances of children.
Grant said he only makes the decisions after he followed due process and consulting with all role players.
