The Western Cape Department of Education will be pumping R15 million to poor underperforming schools in the province.
Department spokesperson Paddy Atwell says there are currently 30 schools in the province that are not achieving the required results.
Atwell added that the department hopes the underperforming schools will achieve better results.
He said that they are focusing on a wide range of issues that help to improve the system as a whole.
The department is going to start with the exam results and analyse what needs to be done in each school and subject to improve results.
Atwell said they then work with the school to develop strategies to support the individual learners, the teachers and school management team to achieve these results.
