A police officer shot dead in Nyanga

The Western Cape police are investigating a murder case, where a police officer was shot dead in Nyanga. 

The police officer was off duty when he was attacked by three unknown men. 

Police Spokesperson Thembinkosi Kinana said according to the reports, the officer was still talking to a workshop owner in the area when three armed men approached him and demanded his service pistol, before they shot him dead.

Kinana said police are investigating a case of murder and robbery but no arrests have been made yet. 

Kinana further said the motive for the killing is not known at this stage.
