A Golden Arrow bus and the company’s bakkie was set alight on Sunday during protest action in Khayelitsha.

No one was reported injured during the violent protest, whereby it is alleged that passengers were forced off the bus and a group of protestors started to stone the bus and then set it alight.

Golden Arrow's Bronwen Dyke said at this stage it’s not clear what the motive for the attack was but it would seem that it maybe be linked to the protest action in the area.

"Fortunately, no injuries were reported and we are working closely with the South African Police Service. Our services are still running in the area but we are diverting our busses as a precautionary measure." Dyke added.
