An accident this morning west of Johannesburg left one person dead and another injured after a bakkie and a truck collided.
ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring says ER24 paramedics from the Johannesburg West bound arrived on the scene and found both vehicles laying in the middle of the intersection.

Meiring said paramedics discovered that the male driver of the bakkie had sustained fatal injuries and trapped inside his vehicle. Rescue services had to use Jaws of Life to rescue him out of the car. The passenger on the bakkie fortunately sustained only minor injuries.

“Paramedics treated the patients with injuries and then after transported to Helen Joseph hospital for further treatment” Meiring added.
