The NPA decides not prosecute crimen injuria charges by DJ Fresh and Euphonik against a woman who accused the of rape

The National prosecuting authority (NPA) has decided against prosecuted crimen injuria charges that were lodged by Thato Sikwane (DJ Fresh) and Themba Nkosi (Dj Euphonik) against a woman who publicly accused the two of rape early this year.

NPA National spokesperson, Lumka Mahanjana spoke to News24 on Tuesday and mentioned that the decision not to prosecute the woman was based on charges of criminal defamation taken and “lack of evidence”, “The NPA can confirm that a decision not to institute prosecution based on charges of criminal defamation was taken. The NPA is of the view that there are no prospects of a successful criminal prosecution" Mahanjana said.

A woman on twitter who goes by the handle “Nampree” accused DJ Fresh and DJ Euphonik of rape publicly earlier this year. In her tweet, she claimed that she was drugged by the two prominent Deejays but they refuted these claims to an extent that DJ Euphonic replied in her tweets by labeling Nampree as a liar and an extortionist. Mahanjana further confirmed that all legal representative parties were informed of this decision not to prosecute.
