The Western Cape Department of Health Seeing Decline in Covid-19 Vaccines

The Western Cape Department of Health has put on alert that the province is seeing a decline in demand of Covid19 vaccines. Meanwhile the province is on a process to exit its third wave infections by end of next week.

The Department of health also stated the province is currently dealing with 8,000 infections which at the peak of the third wave the province recorded about 40, 000 active cases.

Maret Lesch, the provincial health department’s spokesperson said Cape Town residents must ensure they at least receive one dose of a vaccine in the coming weeks to ensure they are immunized by Christmas.

To date more than 1, 2 million people in the Western Cape have been fully vaccinated and at least one, 9 million people have received their first vaccination jab.
