Western Cape SAPS appoints four senior managers in vacant positions

The Western Cape police management appointed four senior managers in vacant positions within the province. The Acting Western Cape’s Police Commissioner, Major General Albert Maqhashalala announced the appointments at the SAPS Provincial Head Office in Green Point, Cape Town, on Wednesday.

The newly appointed senior officers were promoted to the level of Brigadier effective from 01 October 2022 in various positions and environments within the Western Cape.

·        Brigadier Rozelle Bekker, has been appointed Section Head: Legal Support: Resources

·        Brigadier Leon Hanana, has been appointed the Provincial Head: Serious and Violent Crime

·        Brigadier Lindiwe Dyantyi, is the new Station Commander Mitchells Plain SAPS. Dyantyi takes over from Brigadier Cass Goolam, who retired after being in this position for a decade.

·        Brigadier Jan Alexander, is the new Station Commander for Nyanga SAPS. Alexander previously served as station commander at Steenberg police station.


Major General Maqhashalala, accompanied by the Deputy Provincial Commissioners: Major General Michael Jojo, Legal Services, Major General Preston Voskuil, Support Services and Major General Mpumelelo Manci, Policing Services presented the new ranks to the four senior managers.
