Many prominent activists and politicians attended the funeral of Johnny Issel this morning.
Issel was was one of the organisers in South Africa's struggle against apartheid and past away yesterday after a short illness.
He was a teacher, a student activist, a trade union and community organiser and one of the founders of Grassroots Newspaper and the United Democratic Front (UDF).
Bush Radio recorded tributes from various individuals including his daughter Leila Issel, former Minister of Finance, Trevor Manuel and cleric, Allan Boesak.
