The Health Department is changing its approach in combating TB.
The department want to go out and find patients instead of waiting for patients to come to clinics and hospitals.
David Mametja from the health department's TB control and management unit said "We want to move beyond clinics and hospitals and start looking for TB in the households".
South Africa is the third country in the world to be TB burden behind India and China.
TB kills more South Africans than any other condition.
The new strategy by the health department is expected to be rolled out in February.
