An autopsy is to be performed on the French couple who were killed in a shoot-out with police on a farm in Sutherland in the Northern Cape this week.
Hawks spokesperson McIntosh Polela said the French embassy has offered to help.
Phillipe Meniere and Agnis Jardel’s have been accused of killing a policeman and wounded another.
The couple were also suspected to be part of a survivalist cult.
