A student in Cape Town tries to commit suicide after failing matric

Neliswa Mpongwana from Gardens Commercial High School in Cape Town tried to commit suicide after she failed matric.

Mpongwana failed because she obtained 39 percent in English.

Her mother Nomathamsanqa Mpongwana found her on her way to committing suicide and took her back home.

After the incident Neliswa’s mother went to the education department and demanded a re-mark in front of her.

Paddy Attwell Director of Communications in the Education Department confirmed that Neliswa Mpongwana, had indeed failed matric.
