The Motor Transport Workers’ Union says it has no option but to strike if its demands are not met.
Labour is calling on the Road Freight Association to provide a 20-percent wage increase over two-years, as well as ban labour brokers.
The RFA says it can only offer 15-percent.
The Association also says it has not yet received official notice of the strike and all the information it is getting is via the media.
The union has been threatening strike action since last week .
