Three die two Durban taxi accidents

Three people have died in two separate incidents in Durban this morning.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha "Two taxi commuters were killed while the driver escaped with minor injuries after slamming into the rear of a stationary truck at the intersection of Sarnia road and Alfa crescent this morning just before 05:00."

“The two passengers were trapped in the wreckage and the driver was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries,” he said.

The cause of the accident is not yet known

In another incident, a 76-year old jogger was killed when he was hit by a minibus taxi in Pietermaritzburg.

Botha said, “The man went jogging along Table Mountain road in Pietermaritzburg early this morning at around when a taxi hurtled down the road and smashed into the jogger."

He died due to extensive injuries.
