Police are investigating cases of attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition following a shoot out in Wynberg that left two injured earlier today.
The police’s November Filander says the shoot out ensued between occupants travelling in two separate vehicles on Mybeck road in the area.
“During this crossfire one bystander was wounded in his right upper arm and another person frayed both his knees in his attempt to seek cover,” says Filander.
Police managed to arrest three suspects and recovered a 9mm pistol in their possession at the corner of Pearce and Lipton Street in Wynberg.
Filander says police have not ruled out the possibility that the incident might be gang related.
The three suspects, who reside in Lavender Hill and Steenberg, will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court soon.
