Parliament has asked the Congress of the People to sort out who is in charge of the party.
In a statement the National Assembly says it wants to know before Parliament open in the middle of next month whether Mosiuoa Lekota or Mbhazima Shilowa is Cope’s official leader.
In December, the body received a letter from Lekota which said the leadership structure of Cope, as elected in 2008, would continue.
But this month, Shilowa informed Parliament he had been elected president at an elective conference held in December.
