The extreme weather patterns of drought and floods that South Africa’s been facing is said to be the new normal.
Meanwhile, SA’s top scientists say that we cannot depict that global warming is the reason for the shift in weather conditions.
About 88 people died in the country due to heavy rainfall and floods in the past six weeks.
The Department of Co-operative Governance has concluded that the floods in eight provinces will cost R2.3-billion.
