The National Prosecuting Authority has warned public transport drivers of transporting human traffic victims across boarders without them knowing.
This week the NPA will be launching a Human Trafficking Programme, which will be an intensive awareness campaign.
The campaign will aim to educate the public, government and law officials on how to spot human trafficking.
Project manager Nolwandle Qaba said “The research has shown that sometimes the truck drivers and taxi drivers are knowingly transporting victims of human trafficking but we don’t have actual cases reported to the police and being brought to court for prosecution purposes”.
