The public service unions will only make a decision next week whether thy will sign governments wage offer.
The Public Servants Association’s (PSA) Manie de Clerq said “People thought that its 21 calendar days but we checked the constitution thoroughly and it is clear that it is 21 working days which means that on the 12th of October we will then decide what to do in terms of the agreement”.
Government offered the unions a 7.5 percent wage increase and a R800 housing allowance; on the other hand the unions demanded an 8.6 percent wage increase and a R1,000 housing allowance.
Next week Tuesday will mark the 21 days since the nationwide public servant strike was suspended, and the day unions need to decide if they will sign governments offer or not.
