On Tuesday the Khayelitsha District hospital was officially opened. Premier Helen Zille and the Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi were present at the hospital opening.

While the ceremony was underway community groups like the Mandela Park Backyarders and the Progressive Youth Movement protested outside the hospital.

Zama from the PYM says the officials did not want to hear out the protestors cries.

The protestors were told to respect the ceremony.

The community groups were protesting against the unfairness of the job allocation processes at the new hospital.

Khaya from the Mandela Park Backyarders says they will not stop protesting until 60percent of the jobs at the hospital are given to the public.

He continued to say that the board of the hospital has arranged to meet with the groups today at ten.
