The DA Shadow Minister of Communications Marian Shinn today said she has asked for the auditor general and the national treasury to update the DA on the state of governance at the SABC and its progress in meeting with its loan obligations.

Shinn explains that this is in light of reports providing details of the fight that has split the board and drawn Communications Minister Dina Pule into the fray as she motivates for the re-instatement of disgraced Chief Operating Officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

Furthermore Shinn said it has also been revealed that an attorney briefed to investigate fresh corruption at the SABC has been disbarred.

“Minister Pule’s instruction to the board to re-instate Mr Motsoeneng is questionable as the board is responsible for making executive appointments and removals” said Shinn
