North West Premier Thandi Modise is demanding answers as to why a rape suspect alleged to have raped a nine-year-old girl has not been arrested.

Premier Modise said she is also demanding answers from the police as to why they are giving conflicting accounts as to whether a case has been registered or not.

Premier Modise’s Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele adds that the Premier said that they cannot tolerate a situation where law enforcement is vacillating on a sensitive issue such as rape which has reached unacceptable and alarming proportions.

Kgwele added that victims cannot live in fear while perpetrators who are suppose to be behind bars are roaming the streets freely eyeing their next victim.
