The Western Cape Department of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism on Tuesday said it will be providing more than 90 000 residents to access wireless internet through the province’s Wi-Fi pilot project.

MEC Alan Winde said the aim of the project is to see what models works best so it can be replicated across the province.

“These pilot projects in Delft Robertson in the Gardens and Atlantis are mechanism for us to monitor and learn as we roll-out the big projects,

"It is really a live free Wi-Fi, within those communities and love us to see how school children can use it for projects, how businesses can use for enhancing their value to their customers and on how people can get jobs and just connecting to the world in general,” Winde added.
