Police in Limpopo says it is concerned and shocked about the violent murder of an 86-year-old man from Rotterdam village in Hlanganani.

It is alleged that community members had accused the elderly man of murder so therefore they stoned the man to death and placed a tyre around his neck and set him alight.

Police Spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi said they request the communities if they have any information to give them so that the can be able to investigate whatever allegations there are.

“But for them to take the law into their own hands is something that we would not condone as such we have set up a task team that is busy now following the information, hopefully the people responsible will be arrested and be charged accordingly,” Mulaidzi added.
