Two arrested for planting dagga in Butterworth

A couple were on Monday arrested after they were caught planting dagga at their backyards in Zizamele informal settlement in the Eastern Cape. 

Police discovered about 200 dagga plants at a value of about R1 500 planted in their garden.  The couple has been charged with cultivating dagga. 

Captain Jackson Manatha said they discovered that instead of ploughed vegetables in their garden they ploughed some dagga.

Both of them have been detained and they will appear before a magistrate court in Butterworth today" Manatha added.
