An accident this morning involving a bus left fifteen children injured on the Nekkies Road in Worcester.

It is believed that the bus overturned after one of its tires burst. The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found a large bus lying on its side on the side of the road. The occupants of the bus, being children, were standing around the vehicle.

Meiring said on inspection, paramedics discovered that 15 children, aged between 10 and 17, were found to have sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately no-one sustained any serious injuries.

Meiring said Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Worcester Hospital for further treatment.

Meiring said it is understood that the bus overturned after one of its tires apparently burst.

“Local authorities were on scene for further investigations” Meiring added.
