The National Sea Rescue Institute in Gordon's Bay is continuing to search for a 51-year-old fisherman who is presumed to have drowned. It is believed that the man went missing at sea after he went overboard the Table Bay fishing trawler South of Cape Point.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said despite an extensive search no sign of the 51 year old Khayelitsha Fisherman was found on Thursday.

Lambinon added that the fishing vessel itself has docked at its home port, in Table Bay Port.

“Police and Maritime Safety Authority have opened an investigation, at this time the missing fisherman is presumed to be drown” Lambinon added.
