Cocaine packed in chocolate wrapping confiscated at Cape Town International Airport

Western Cape police arrested a 37-year-old man at the Cape Town International Airport on Tuesday, for being in possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R2.4million.

The police’s Joseph Swartbooi said officers confiscated four kilograms of cocaine packed in chocolate wrappings hidden in the traveler's luggage.

‘’The members were strategically placed to profile and searched passengers disembarking from an International flight from Dubai just before midday.’’

‘’Amidst the hustle and bustle, they kept their sights focused and conducted intense searches. Their mandate was fulfilled when they confiscated 4 kg of cocaine wrapped in chocolate wrappings hidden in the luggage of one of the passengers,’’ added Warrant Officer, Joseph Swartbooi.

Once charged, the suspect will make a court appearance in the Bellville Magistrate court on the mentioned charge.
