Free State MEC for sports, arts, culture and recreation will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court today after he was caught driving at a record speed of 235 kilometres per hour.
Dan Kgothule was caught speeding in his BMW, along the N1 highway outside Bloemfontein late last week.
Kgothule whose speeding was the fastest during the festive period was arrested and released on two-thousand-Rand bail.
A total of 126 people were arrested in the province over the festive season.
Acting director of Traffic Management in the Free State, Sydney Mogaecho says the average speed of those arrested was 185 kilometres per hour.
