MEC for social development in the Western Cape Albert Fritz made it clear that the Western Cape government is upset with the state of the grant payouts for pensioners and people with disabilities.
Fritz visited the Elsies River payout point this morning and he said it was complete chaos.
He said that every time national government is involved in something then it’s a complete failure.
Fritz is writing to the national minister of social development to register a protest against the treatment of the pensioners and disabled people.
He added that the chaos at the payout centre is so bad that they arranged with disaster risk management to provide toilets and water for the pensioners that are still waiting for their grants.
