The Congress of South African Trade Union (Cosatu) says that they are pleased with the turnaround in the fortunes of the clothing and textile industry.

National government restricted imports from China and has made investment available in the clothing sector.

On Monday the Western Cape Minister for Finance and Economic Development Allan Winde together with Cosatu officials visited factories in this sector.

Cosatu Spokesperson Tony Ehrenreich says the change in the sector was brought by the National government and the provincial government.

He says the measures that were put in place, assisted in bringing changes in the industry.
