57 year old man arrested for dealing in dagga

Woodstock Police on Monday afternoon arrested a 57 year old man for dealing in dagga.

The man was arrested in an informal settlement in Cornwall street , with dagga and its street value is estimated at +-R10 000-00.

Police Spokesperson Sergeant Hilton Malila said the arrest followed a scheduled stop and searched crime prevention patrols, when members noticed an elderly man next to a dirt bin, reacting very suspicious.

Malila said the officers immediately searched the bin, and confiscated 6x parcels of dagga and 62 stoppe dagga, that were hidden inside a rise plastic bag.

He added that they searched the suspect and seized a substantial amount of cash in his possession.

The 57 year old man is in police custody and is due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ court on Wednesday on charges of dealing and possession of dagga.
