On Tuesday the Western Cape MEC of Human Settlements, Bonginkosi Madikizela handed over some of the 365 title deeds to housing subsidy beneficiaries in Atlantis, Cape Town
A further four beneficiaries in their 70s and 24 beneficiaries in their 60s will also receive title deeds.
Ministerial Spokesperson Bruce Oom said the issuing of the title deeds marked a hundred years 1913 African Land Act, which prevented people from owning land.
“This tries to correct the imbalances of people who had land taken away many years ago” Oom said.
