On Monday a march was held to create TB awareness, Western Cape MEC of Health Theuns Botha said the dual scourge of HIV and TB can only be dealt with if a patient is diagnosed.

MEC Botha said the third Global Forum on TB vaccines will be held in Cape Town from the 25 to the 27 of March 2013, under the theme “Zero TB and HIV infections, deaths, stigma and discrimination in my lifetime”.

Ministerial Spokesperson Helene Rossouw said MEC Botha encouraged the public to get tested for HIV and TB.

Rossouw added that it is the only way one can be diagnosed correctly and once diagnosed can be treated immediately.
