Motorists can expect fuel price hike next week

The Department of Energy today announced another petrol price hike. 

Petrol will increase by 81 cents per litre next Wednesday.

The price of diesel will go up by 58.3 cents per litre for both grades.

Economist Merina Willemse said this is the largest petrol price increase the country has seen. 

Willemse added that consumers will feel the pressure from electricity hike and now petrol hike.

The Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan, during the Budget Speech announced that fuel prices will increase in April.
