The National Office Bearers of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa has condemned the leaking of its internal reports to the media.

Spokesperson Castro Ngobese said there are reports of a publication that carries a story under the headline Union boss lashes Cosatu president.

The report selectively quotes the Opening Address to their Central Committee as delivered by Numsa President Cedric Gina.

Ngobese said they strongly believe that this is part of a broader campaign to divide not only Numsa but Cosatu as well.

He added that they call upon all these responsible for this to refrain from it.
