The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union said it is appalled by the recent violent attacks on its targeted members by organised individuals.

SATAWU said in the past three weeks shopstewards who are based at PRASA have been attacked in their homes with petrol bombs thrown into their houses.

SATAWU National Spokesperson Vincent Masoga added that thes actions are a culmination of intimidations and threats aggrevated by few individuals’ former members of SATAWU who have since found it fashionable to instigate divisions and mistrusts amongst the workers.

Masoga added that the said individuals are the same people who are currently enjoying sympathy in the society whereas they are on a tirade of eroding the established conditions of organised worker formations and bargaining processes, flagrantly with violent and intimidating crimes.
