SA Domestic Service and Allied
Workers Union General Secretary Myrtle Witbooi said the courts have a duty to
deal swiftly and ruthlessly with individuals and groups of people who by their
actions show that they are still racist.
Witbooi said they hope the case will
be finalised in November and that Gloria Kente can get some closure.
“We hope this sends out a clear
message to employers that domestic workers will now speak out for themselves
and that they won’t be abused any longer” Witbooi added.
