Cosatu calls for the Old Army Base to be used for low cost housing

The Congress of South African Trade Union in the Western Cape has called for the Old Army Base to be used for low cost housing. 

Cosatu’s Tony Ehrenreich said this low cost housing development in the centre of the City presents an ideal opportunity to promote integrated human settlement but the Democratic Alliance is opposed to this. 

“Cosatu believes that the old army base in Cape Town should be used for low cost housing and we should stop the DA’s attempts in the City of Cape Town to try and get this plot to be sold off to their wealthy developer friends.

Cosatu is calling on the minister to make sure we develop integrated communities that undoes the old apartheid especially the divide that exists in Cape Town.”  Ehrenreich
