The Congress of the People said it will demand answers from President Jacob Zuma tomorrow regarding when he will pay the back the money spend on his Nkandla home.
President Zuma is on Wednesday
expected to respond to oral questions in the National Assembly.
A report by Public Protector
Thuli Madonsela suggested that President Zuma repay some of the money used to
upgrade his home in Nkandla.
COPE’s Spokesperson Dennis
Bloem said the Public Protector in a report found that the president and his
family unduly benefited from what was meant to be security upgrades at his
private residents.
Bloem added that Cope expects
that the President Zuma will demonstrate tomorrow that he respects the
constitution of our country.
“We believe that the president
can defuse the tension tomorrow in parliament that he and the speaker have
created by simply answering the pending question, when is he going to pay back
the money.” Bloem added.
