Political parties shocked by brazen SABC mugging

The Department of Communications has strongly condemned the mugging of three SABC journalists including contributing Editor Vuyo Mvoko on Tuesday night.

The team was preparing for a live crossing after the arrival of Zambian President Edgar Lungu at the Milpark hospital outside Johannesburg when they were mugged.

Minister of Communications Faith Muthambi said this incident impacts the country negatively.

Departmental Spokesperson Ayanda Hollow said Government has intensified the fight against crime to protect the rights of citizens as enshrined in the constitution and will continue his effort in reducing to ensure that all people who live in South Africa are safe and feel safe.

“Minister Muthambi encourages citizens to work closely with law enforcement agencies to reduce crime levels in our communities” Hollow added.
