Police in KwaZulu Natal are investigating the discovery of seven foetuses that were found in glass jars at an illegal dumping site in Marianhill, west of Durban.

Police Spokesperson Jay Naicker said the foetuses were found at a medical waste dumping site.

Naicker said it is alleged that members of the community found these jars while walking in the area.

Naicker said they also alleged that there was a doctor surgery that was near-by and they had recently seen somebody cleaning up the premises.

Naicker said at this stage an enquiry will be opened for further investigation.
