Truck driver lost control and died on the spot in Hout Bay

An accident this morning on Hout Bay Main Road left one person dead. This is after the truck he was driving lost control and overturned.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring says ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the large truck on the side wedged up against a large tree.

Meiring said on assessment paramedics discovered a male driver trapped inside the vehicle. Rescue services had to use the Jaws of Life equipment to free the man in a one hour operation.

"Once freed from the vehicle, paramedics found that the patient had showed no signs of life. Paramedics began CPR and unfortunately after twenty minutes no signs of life returned and the patient was declared dead" Meiring added.
