Newscastle man dies after losing control of motorbike

A man died on Sunday afternoon on the R602 near Danhauser in Newcastle.

“ER24 paramedics responded to the scene, and on arrival, found a male patient being treated by provincial services.” ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

“On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained severe injuries to the chest and head, was in a critical condition.” Meiring added.


The man died 40 minutes after paramedics performed advanced life support on him. 

It’s alleged that the man hit a pothole while on his motorbike, resulting in him losing control of his vehicle.
